Job Summary

We are seeking a US History teacher for a 6 week summer school class. Students voluntarily enroll and the class is not for remediation but for students seeking advancement. Classes are held in person on the WHS campus in Walniut, CA. The class will deliver a year of US History in summer following the CA standards for said course.

Students in grade eleven study the major turning points in American history in the twentieth century to the present.

Following a brief review of the nation’s beginnings and the impact of the Enlightenment on U.S. democratic ideals, the students trace the development and practice of the political, economic, and social trends in the United States. The students are challenged with learning, applying, and demonstrating the following intellectual skills: Chronological and Spatial Thinking, Historical Research, Evidence, and Point of View, and Historical Interpretation in conjunction with the content standards.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in this course.
