Responsibilities

Design and follow a complete teaching plan that meets the needs of each child’s individual learning style and pace of learning, using existing programs used by Monica Ros School

Organize learning materials and resources, and use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities, etc) to motivate and stimulate students

Teach academics along with anti-bias, personal, social and emotional skills
-
Participate in special activities, thematic teaching units, and extracurricular events that make the Monica Ros School experience and community what it is

Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
-
Assess students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering skills on a regular basis
-
Monitor children’s interactions and nurture social-emotional development

Cooperate with administration staff
-
Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations
-
Attend weekly administrative meetings and participate in school related community events
Preferred Education and Experience
-
2+ years Teaching experience
-
Bachelor's degree
-
CA Teaching Credential
-
Excellent knowledge of child development, education theories and practices
-
Creative and artistic teaching abilities
-
Patience and flexibility
-
Strong communication skills
-
Desire to continue professional development opportunities

Ability to provide references

Successful completion of fingerprinting and criminal background check (a must)
