*** See Job Description for details *** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a valid CA Single Subject Credential or added authorization in Science. • Must have English Learners authorization. • Must have two years of full-time teaching experience or student teaching (6 semester hours or 120 clock hours). • Working with credit deficient students in continuation school setting. • Desired Qualifications: o A minimum of 30 semester hours beyond bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Math. o Mathematical background consisting of a year of calculus followed by 24 or more semester hours of course work related to secondary mathematics, including modern algebra, number theory, analysis, geometry, probability, and history of mathematics. o Participation in: a variety of relevant in-service education classes, demonstration lessons, workshops, conferences, and institutes; curriculum and instructional materials selection committees on a district level. o A minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience in mathematics, including pupils with varying degrees of mathematical ability. Classroom teaching experience in two or more schools, preferably in different socio-economic areas o Experience in meeting the needs of slow learners and educationally handicapped pupils. o Professional assignments such as department chairman, demonstration teacher, in-school or district resource teacher, team leader, or student teacher supervisor. o Awareness of current trends in mathematics education and familiarity with recent experiments in mathematics curriculum and teaching methods.
