Alpha is committed to ensuring that every student is prepared to get to and through college. The Dean of Students serves a vital role in fulfilling Alpha’s mission by designing and maintaining systems for positive culture and community on campus. What you’ll do… --Support teachers and school staff in maintaining a safe and orderly environment in all campus areas. Provide coaching when necessary. --Manage office referrals and facilitate restorative circles and mediation meetings with students, as needed. --Manage emergency situations by responding to the scene, providing first aid, delegating tasks and assignments to faculty, and alerting additional police or emergency personnel as appropriate. --Write and submit incident reports and communicate reports with other school leaders as appropriate. --Lead project work to develop and maintain a positive school culture. --Participate in PBIS training through the SCCOE and co-lead the PBIS team and program implementation. --Coordinate with other school leaders to monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level to include both academic and behavioral support systems. --Coordinate and facilitate PBIS staff professional development with school leadership. --Design and coordinate implementation of middle school sports programming (after school teams, intramural sports). --Design and co-lead with other school leaders weekly school-wide meetings for the Cornerstone community. --Oversee the implementation and refinement of student leadership development systems including activities such as SEL lessons on leadership and responsibility, student council, peer restorative justice, peer tutoring, cross-grade buddies, etc. --Manage and oversee other culture project plans to support student culture in a collaborative way. --Analyze and present data using our data systems (e.g, EduClimber, Dean’s List, survey data) to track and analyze behavior and intervention data to school staff best support
