Job Summary
Job Summary
Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking analytical and detail oriented individuals to apply for the Principal Systems Specialist, District Support position. The Principal Systems Specialist, District Support plans, coordinates, and supervises the work of a technical unit responsible for providing functional human resources information, payroll, and/or retirement systems administration to county-wide local education agency clients.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent is required. Experience: Four years of automated business systems experience that includes two years of systems processing experience entering, updating, or monitoring data and resolving related issues using human resources information, payroll, and/or retirement systems (e.g. LACOE's Human Resources System (HRS)). Additional Requirements: College coursework in accounting, business or personnel administration is desirable. Experience in a public school or county office as well as acting in a lead capacity is desirable. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required. Remote, work-from-home, or hybrid work days may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE will require all employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.

Federal and state statutes, codes, laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to retirement and payroll processing, time reporting, personnel assignments, garnishments, deduction control, and payroll and retirement accounting
Appropriate methods of training, group facilitation and instructional techniques
Basic arithmetic
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS applications
Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA; principles of progressive discipline; and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
