Job Summary

Job Summary

Directly responsible to the principal. Performs tasks related to the processing, inventory, distribution, maintenance, circulation, and classification of district-adopted text, books, audio-visual and media materials. Assists students and teachers in using and taking advantage of library/media materials available in order to support a safe and orderly environment for students and staff. Performs other related work as directed.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Required: One year of varied clerical and/or library/media center experience Desired: Prior experience as a library/media clerk in a school district. Education in child development and/or learning theories EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent to graduation from high school. DOCUMENTS: Possession of a valid California Driver License Typing Certificate - Minimum of 40 Net Words Per Minute TYPING CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: The typing certificate must contain the following information: - Agency’s official emblem - Address and telephone number of agency - Signature of person certifying the certificate - Date of certificate - Name of applicant - Number of correct (net) words per minute typed during a five (5) minute timed test. (The certificate must indicate it was a 5-minute test, and the score must be identified as net or corrected words per minute.) - Typing certificates obtained online will not be accepted.
