Job Summary

This is a summer school position. Monday - Thursday. 7:30am - 1:00pm. All high school summer school classes will be held on the Walnut High School Campus. This Chemistry course will run for 6 weeks (24 days). Classes will be held on Tuesday through Thursday when a national holiday is celebrated (ex: July 4 and Juneteenth). Students are taking this class for enrichment / advancement. This course emphasizes the CA Content Standards in Chemistry.

This course is designed to help students gain a better understanding of the concepts involved with Chemistry. The topics covered include: atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding and biochemistry, kinetics, thermodynamics, chemical reactions, conservation of matter, stoichiometry, as well as investigation and experimentation. By taking this course students will gain a better understanding as to how chemistry is involved in the world they live in. This course emphasizes the CA Content Standards in Chemistry.  As an Honors level course, Inorganic matter is studied in depth and scope. Chemistry problems introduced require extensive use of mathematics and are on an advanced conceptual level. This course emphasizes the CA Content Standards in Chemistry and prepares students for AP Chemistry.

Valid California Teaching Credential required.
