Job Summary
The job of Maintenance Specialist is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process with specific responsibility for performing journeyman skilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, locksmithing, etc.); ensuring completion of assigned work order projects are to code; training and guiding other maintenance workers; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

COMPLETE AND SAVE THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE APPLICATION PROCESS. THE QUESTIONNAIRE IS LOCATED UNDER "LINKS RELATED TO THIS JOB." MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience and specialized training in at least one of the building trades areas such as woodworking, metal trades, electrical, mechanical maintenance or plumbing. Relevant experience, education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted. Requires a valid driver's license and evidence of insurability. SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will include screening to ensure application and supplemental questionnaire are complete and applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a written examination for all qualified applicants. Those candidates achieving a passing score on the written exam will be invited to the oral examination. Passing score is 70% on each exam. An eligibility list will be established and the top three ranks of candidates from the list will receive a departmental interview.
