Applicant must be an organized self-starter, able to work as a member of a team on a variety of detailed-oriented tasks. Additionally, the selected applicant must have strong technology skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Google sheets and docs, and student information system(s). It is highly desired the applicant have experience with Aeries SIS, TOMS, CAASPP Data Systems, and/or CALPADS. Of high importance is an ability to solve technical puzzles.

DISTRICT ASSESSMENT DATA SPECIALIST
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director, Management Information and Student Testing Services, the District Assessment Data Specialist will assist in the preparation, collection, submission and analysis of data for annual District and State testing programs and annual accountability reporting. The District Assessment Data Specialist will also respond to requests for information from within the district and from the public.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO:
Director, Management Information and Student Testing Services
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Director, Management Information and Student Testing Services in the preparation of reports regarding student assessments and other District, State and Federal accountability documents.
2. Prepares statistical data and types statistical reports, findings, and recommendations as directed by the Director, Management Information and Student Testing Services.
3. Assists the District Programmer/Analyst and Operations Coordinator in the collection, submission, analysis and verification of testing and student data files for state and local testing.
4. Assists the District Programmer/Analyst in maintaining effective data warehousing and data mining software for use of the District staff.
5. Assists the District Programmer/Analyst with the student information system to use the testing module software.
6. Organizes the printing and reading of all scans for local testing and loads data onto the student system.
7. Fills Requests for Information from within the school district and from the public.
8. Assists District Testing Specialist with test warehouse work.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Experience with Microsoft Office - expert level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access. Expertise using COBOL and SQL programming and HP/3000 computer systems is desirable. Also desirable is a basic understanding of the various assessments used in K-12 public education.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of college or technical school training in computer science. A four-year college degree or comparable years of experience in data processing is desirable.
