Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school and one year experience in community service programs or related areas. • Valid California driver’s license. • Knowledge of student attendance laws, rules, regulations and procedures. • Knowledge of correct oral and written usage of English and a designated second language. • Knowledge of record-keeping techniques. • Knowledge of school and district policies, rules and regulations. • Knowledge of modern office methods and equipment, including filing systems, computer programs such as Microsoft Office software, telephone techniques, and letter and report writing. • Ability to maintain computerized records accurately and prepare appropriate and timely reports. • Ability to monitor attendance and assist with various attendance procedures. • Ability to deal effectively with parents, students and school officials concerning student attendance. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, parents and community members. • Ability to provide translation or interpretation services for limited and non-English speaking parents.
