Job Summary
The Position: Experienced teachers are hired as “Certificated Contracted Consultants” to assist districts and charter schools throughout the county of Los Angeles in providing Practicum Supervision services to new teacher candidates (district interns). Practicum Supervisors work with interns (candidates) who hold district intern credentials and are working to earn their Preliminary teaching credentials. LACOE Practicum Supervisors guide candidates through the Intern process of designing, planning, analyzing, and reflecting in order to meet the California Teacher Performance Expectations. Practicum Supervisors are responsible for completing formal observations and informal support during the candidate's workday.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience and Education: - The applicant must have at least three years of teaching experience (on a valid Clear Credential) with recommendations/references. - Applicants must possess one of the credentials/authorizations listed on the job description in order to be eligible for the position. - Working knowledge of Google Drive, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems such as Canvas (experience with Canvas preferred) - Knowledge of new teacher development. - Knowledge of the state-adopted academic content standards and performance levels for students, state adopted curriculum frameworks, and the California Teacher Performance Expectations - Ability to model best teaching practices. - Availability and willingness to participate in mandatory professional training to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective Practicum Supervisor - Ability to demonstrate professional integrity and respect the confidentiality of candidate(s). - Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to provide both professional and emotional support to beginning teachers. - Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and learning. License or Certificate: Possession of one of the credentials/authorizations listed on the job description in order to be eligible for the position
