Job Summary
The Senior Director of Special Education leads, plans, organizes, manages, and directs all aspects of the Special Education programs, settings, and services for students with disabilities; provides leadership in the District’s planning activities; implements, monitors, and evaluates the Pre-K-Transition Special Education and Psychological Services staff; coordinates student psychological assessments and acts as a district liaison to county and state officials regarding compliance and legal procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A. Possession of a valid California Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential B. Possession of a valid California Administrative Credential C. Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, preferably in special education, administration, or a closely related field. D. Three or more years of successful teaching experience. E. Three or more years of successful experience in an administrative position, preferably including experience as a site principal. F. Bilingual ability desirable.
