Moreland serves Preschool-8th grade students across three cities in Santa Clara County. Our teachers educate approximately 3,800 students in four elementary schools, two TK-8 schools and one middle school. Teachers are provided regular preparation time, collaboration time, and professional development. Students are offered a wide variety of programs to support their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Job Summary
The intervention teacher works with 4th and 5th grade students Monday through Friday 6 hours per day, 180 days per year at Easterbrook Discovery School. Applications will be accepted for candidates who would prefer to work 4 hours per day.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher with the course of study prescribed by the District approved curriculum.
- Provide academic intervention services to students in the K-8 classroom.
- Assists with the development and use instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturity.
- Support push-in services, small group and/or pull-out instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
- Collaborate with the teacher to establish and maintain standards of student control required to achieve effective participation in all activities.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning problems.
- Communicate with teachers and parents through a variety of means.
- Establish a safe and effective learning environment.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and/or professional growth activities and university courses.
- Perform basic attendance and classroom accounting.
- Stimulate in students the development of positive self image, personal responsibility, and pride.
- May participate in faculty and/or District committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid California Credential.
- Bachelor’s degree including all courses to meet credential requirements.
- Successful student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
- Effectively interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
