The Winston School, a small independent 6-12 grade school in North San Diego County seeks a credentialed Special Education Teacher for Middle and High School students with learning differences. With a focus on individualized education, we celebrate our students' strengths and help them overcome challenges to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a Special Education teacher with at least 3 years of teaching experience to work in a team-teaching setting and provide direct instruction at the middle or high school level. Exposure to UDL environment a plus. Candidates must have an Education Specialist Credential and experience working with students who require accommodations and differentiated instruction. Candidates must be able to plan lessons, evaluate student learning, and create problems that are scaffolded to support student learning. Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, classroom management techniques, and interpersonal skills. All teachers supported with one on one mentorship and opportunities for professional development. Case Management experience required. Duties will include but are not limited to assignments outside of the classroom, parent conferences, and special events. Intern or preliminary credential candidates will be considered. Support to clear credential may be available if credential is preliminary.
