Responsible for the day to day operation of the center, for compliance with regulations, and for communications with the Department; and has the authority to acknowledge receipt of deficiency notices and to correct deficiencies that constitute immediate threats to children’s health and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Site Supervisor Site and/or Child Development Program Director required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following:
1) Complies with State Licensing Child Care regulations including completing appropriate paperwork
2) Able to establish the preschool policy, program, and budget, in unison with the Campus Director
3) Recruit, train, direct and evaluate qualified staff, and terminate employment of staff as needed.
4) Responsible for modeling the development, planning and implementation of the Preschool Learning Foundations.
5) Creates age appropriate lesson plans and curriculum.
6) Assists children in socialization and learning skills.
7) Assures that building, yard and classroom safety and cleanliness standards are being met, both in relationship to students and staff.
8) Monitors enrollment to ensure reporting procedures for attendance and fiscal information is accurate.
9) Provide information to parents concerning their children’s development, abilities, and areas of concern; explains program procedures and classroom activities as requested.
10) Establish and maintain effective communications with parents, caregivers, school staff and community: i.e. parent conferences, back-to-school night, open house etc.
11) Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality of teaching methods and support for program goals.
12) Ensure children’s nutritional needs are met.
13) Ensures preschool rooms and play areas are maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, and complies with Community Care Licensing.
14) Maintain materials, tools and equipment to be used in the classroom
15) Keeps accurate personnel and children records.
16) Post required documents mandated by the Department of Social Services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A classroom position with small children will require significant physical movement. Will require a significant degree of walking, bending, stooping, reaching and stretching. The individual may be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
