About the Employer
Contra Costa SELPA membership includes the following sixteen Local Education Agencies (LEA) in Contra Costa County: Acalanes, Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Canyon, Contra Costa County Office of Education, John Swett, Knightsen, Lafayette, Liberty, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Pittsburg, and Walnut Creek. The members join together to adopt a Local Plan in accordance with California Education Code to assure access to special education and services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing in the geographic area served by these LEAs.

Job Summary
Program Specialists are appointed by the SELPA Director to provide a wide range of assistance to the Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in Contra Costa SELPA. These individuals support the implementation of laws, regulations, and policies at the state, federal and SELPA level to effectively support the implementation of services to students with special needs and assist with access to programs and services. In addition, they promote the quality and compliance of programs and services SELPA-wide and provide a significant amount of professional development SELPA-wide.
