LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALISTS BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Library Media Specialist performs library center functions at an assigned school site; oversees circulation activities; organizes, distributes and stores library and audio-visual materials; provides general and reference assistance to students and teachers; selects and purchases library materials; conducts library presentations; maintains database and distribution of curriculum textbooks and related materials. Employees in this classification receive general to limited supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a school library and requires a variety of specialized, technical, and organizational skills as well as creativeness and initiative. Qualification(s) required: NCLB Compliance.
