VISTA OAKS CHARTER SCHOOL CONTACT: Megan Balderas, Site Director at megan.balderas@vistaoaks.net CLASS TITLE: TEACHER BASIC FUNCTION: Teacher will be asked to teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 to small classrooms. Instruction will be mainly in-person and some may be virtual. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree, including courses needed to meet credential requirements and student teaching classroom experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Teaching Credential. Assignments in this class may be full-time or part-time. WORKING CONDITIONS: The majority of the math classes will taught onsite 3 days a week. The position will include ample prep time as well. Other possibilities may be available. ENVIRONMENT: Classroom and Online environment.

Vista Oaks Charter is an independent study and homeschool public charter school that serves approximately 800 students in grades TK-12. We are seeking applicants for middle and high school Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 to join our faculty in 2022-2023.  This job will be a full-time position but part-time could be considered as well.


 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience teaching in accordance with Common Core Math standards and Mathematical Practices as well as assessment
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary curriculum and teaching in an urban environment
  • Commitment to professional development

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • California Teacher Credential in Math  with English Learner Authorization or ability to obtain an Interim Credential
  • Experience working successfully with high school age students
