OVERVIEW: San Diego Unified School District, the second largest district in California and one of the top largest urban school districts in the United States, is seeking a Program Manager, Special Education. BASIC FUNCTION: The Program Manager, Special Education will plan, organize, control, and direct special education services for a defined population of students with disabilities; provide monitoring and technical assistance and communicate between the District, other agencies and parents; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

POSITION SPECIFICS: Working Location is Special Education Department - 4100 Normal St, San Diego CA 92103 Scheduled for 12 months per year Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents The Program Manager, Special Education will be paid on the AASD Certificated Supervisors Salary Schedule, Plan 0708. Salary Grade: 30.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: master’s degree supplemented by four years of teaching and supervising experience in special education or as a school psychologist. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid Administrative Credential. Valid California driver’s license.
