Job Summary
The Oak Hill School in San Anselmo, California seeks an experienced, motivated, and highly qualified individual to join its teaching staff for the 22.23 school year. Oak Hill is a small, non-public school, serving students with autism and other developmental differences. Teachers lead and collaborate with a team of therapists, teaching assistants, parents and outside professionals to design and implement a comprehensive educational program for a group a 6-8 students. We are looking for a teacher who has experience with classroom and individual positive behavior management as well as an interest in community-based learning and instruction. The Classroom Teacher is expected to be a leader in our community, of both the team he or she is in charge of and within the wider school, sharing expertise and modeling best practice. Requirements / Qualifications
Must-haves:
- Current moderate-severe California teaching credential with autism certification.
- Familiarity with special education procedures, including the development implementation, and assessment of IEPs and Behavior Support Plans.
- Ability to work in regular collaboration with a team of professionals, to give and receive feedback.
- Passion for teaching.
- Calm, even temperament.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in special education or related field.
- One to three years teaching experience.
- Experience with ABA, DIR, RDI or related models of autism intervention.
- Experience with visual schedules, PECs, ProLoquo, or related augmentative communication systems.
- Experience with data collection and data based decision making for student programming.

Oak Hill School is more than a building and classrooms, it's a 7-acre campus with 50 students across the elementary and secondary education programs. Oak Hill benefits from extensive campus opportunities, including 7 classrooms, speech and psychotherapy rooms, an occupational therapy studio, gymnasium, natural and synthetic turf athletic fields and an outdoor swimming pool.
Students participate in regularly scheduled visits to outside organizations for service learning, independent living skills, arts education and social interaction. Additionally, teen students participate in internships at organic farms, equine centers, retail stores, public libraries, restaurants and businesses in the surrounding community.
