Overview of TPS Lower School (K-4): The Primary Grades (Lower School) at Presentation are child-centered and developmentally appropriate. It is in these grades that we lay down the foundation for the student’s future school life. Our teachers carefully guide the K - 4th grade child, instilling in them a love of learning, confidence in their own voice and respect for others. We value a young child’s natural desire to learn through exploration, creation, and self-expression. Beginning in Kindergarten students learn what it means to be a Presentation student, which to us means students who embody the ability to Love, Learn, and Lead. Even the youngest child can see their calling to love others, learn about the world around them, and how they can be a leader today and for the future! The ideal candidate will be a credentialed teacher seeking a position at a dynamic, faith-based, private independent K-8 school. Our mission statement calls us to be academically rigorous while embracing the uniqueness of each child through integrated curriculum, high expectations, and STEAM focus. 

All Presentation School teachers promote literacy across disciplines and collaborate to build and implement brain based 21st century teaching units. As a small school, we work together to meet the needs of every child as he or she develops spiritually, academically, socially and physically.

 Responsibilities:

  • Adapt, create, implement, and differentiate a curriculum to meet individual needs *Instruction to include math, language arts, social studies, and faith 
  • *In lower school students will also teach science
  • Candidates will demonstrate professionalism, dedication, and a strong work ethic
  • Work collaboratively within divisions
  • Implement newly adopted benchmarks
  • Ability to utilize technology – Google Classroom a plus!
  • Strong positive classroom management
  • Willingness to participate in overnight field trips
  • Love students of all ages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with students, parents, and colleagues

Duties Include various activities in addition to teaching :

  • Participation in and support of grade-level activities
  • Provide extra help to students who need it
  • Concern for the appearance of the classroom and of the grounds
  • Flexibility and cooperation in furthering academic or extra-curricular programs
  • Attendance at school activities, such as plays, concerts, athletic events, etc., is very strongly encouraged
  • Regular attendance at faculty meetings and open houses is expected and required

Qualifications:

  • California Single or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency with technology


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree
  • 3 Years Experience

 

The Presentation School is located 45 miles north of San Francisco, nestled in the beautiful Sonoma Valley; heart of the wine country.  Our campus is housed on 4.5 rural acres, complete with school garden, minutes from the historic plaza.

Requirements: Cleared Background check, required COVID-19 vaccine plus booster, TB Test, and First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to receive First Aid training. Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience ranging from $60,000-$74,000.
