Under general direction, perform a variety of routine office support activities, including answering phones, typing, filing and record keeping, in support of an assigned school office operation. Communication with Parents, students and staff. Receive supervision from the school administrator and/or designee, within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures. Perform office functions in the processing and maintenance of assigned records.

Perform a variety of complex, prescribed secretarial duties in a school requiring good communication skills; utilize specialized knowledge and independent judgment involving frequent and responsible public contact; provide for accurate and timely entry of a variety of enrollment and other data into various computer software programs. E
Coordinate and lead office activities to reduce administrative detail for the principal and other certificated or classified employees; prepare and maintain attendance logs and files. E
Prepare and type letters, forms, records, reports, bulletins, handbooks, statistical reports and other documents; duplicate a variety of materials; may receive, open and distribute mail. E\
Receive and screen phone calls and visitors; schedule appointments and provide attendance information and direct inquiries and visitors to the proper person or office; make phone calls to request or provide information as directed; provide technical information concerning policies and procedures. E
Operate a computer to enter, update, and access a variety of records and information into various computer software programs; operate various telephone systems and other office equipment. E
Perform related duties as assigned.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform a variety of complex, prescribed secretarial duties in a elementary school requiring good communication skills; utilize specialized knowledge and independent judgment involving frequent and responsible public contact; provide for accurate and timely entry of a variety of enrollment and other data into various computer software programs. Verififies student absences,issues admit slips and assigns student to classroom as required. Maintains assigned school office records, including attendance, enrollment, health, CUM folders, registration,ect. Assits School office manager in the performance of duties. Works with MOT supervisor with student transportation isues or questions. Administers first aid in conjunction with required district policy. Operates security pane when required. Perfoms other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bi-lingual Spanish: Any combination of education, training and/or experience that would indicate possessions ofknowledge, skills and abilities listed herein (AERIES, Parent Square, Quicken and QSS) Completion of 12th grade or equivalent withtraining in typing,filing and office machines; some experience in related clerical work.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Complex, prescribed office procedures, computers and other office equipment. Knowledge of Basic record-keeping techniques; correct English usage, grammer, spelling, and punctuation. Telephone techniques, systems and etiquette. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; good communication skills and techniques. District policies, applicable sections of the State Education Code and other laws and regulations.
ABILITY TO:
Speak, read and write in Spanish. Perform a variety of complex, prescribed secretarial duties in an assigned elementary school involving specialized knowledge and independent judgment. Communicate clearly; understand and interpret District and other rules, policies and procedures. Understand and sollow oral and written directions; work independently as required. Operate a computer and other office equipment; meet schedules and time lines. Maintain records; analyze situations accurately and take appropriate action. Work cooperatively with others. Complete work accurately and as directed with many interruptions.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to file a variety of documents; reaching overhead, above the shoulders or horizontally, or bending at the waist to retrieve or store records or files; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment; lifting light objects. Light pyshical exertion with ocassional standing or walking: periodic handling of lihtweight parcles or supplies; indoor work evironment
