Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge of General computer proficiency, particularly Excel, required. Advanced computer proficiency with Excel, Acrobat, and accounting software required. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required; AA or 4-year degree preferred but not required. * Three (3) years direct prior payroll and state retirement reporting experience required. * Prior charter or school district or county office of education preferred; experience with payroll tax reporting preferred.

Springs Charter Schools is seeking a motivated and energetic candidate to fill our newest position, Payroll Retirement Specialist. Candidates must be able to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgement with exemplary written and oral communication skills. This position qualifies for full time health and wellness benefits and CalPERS retirement. Under supervision of the Director of Payroll, this position performs specialized and complex retirement and payroll duties involving the analysis, audit, and processing of districts classified and certificated payroll ensuring classified and certificated district employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner including preparation of reports for State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS), Public Employees Retirement Systems (PERS), Social Security, Medicare, and other retirement systems for district employees county-wide; benefits reconciliations.
