DEFINITION

Provide supervisory expertise for wide area network of switches, hubs, routers, Voice over IP (VOIP), windows operating system, network security, e-mail, and Internet access.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general direction from the Operations Manager of Information Services, and exercises direct supervisor over the Computer Networking Support Technicians.

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES – Duties may included, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Develop, implement, and maintain system security; perform evaluations of assigned staff.

 

Provides leadership for project management, technical architecture, standards development, and systems administration practices.

 

Assists administrative, instructional and support personnel to plan and implement a wide range of technology-based project.

 

Oversees set-up; installation and maintenance of computers and servers used for programs and projects.

 

Maintains LAN, WAN and Internet server software, and provides necessary maintenance and upgrades.

 

Plans, organizes, and negotiates with vendors to facilitate acquisition of instructional technology hardware and software related to divisional and project goals and objectives.

 

Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Any combination equivalent to:

  • A Bachelor or Arts degree in computer science or related field
  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory related experience (Additional related experience maybe substituted for education on a year-for-year basis).

 

License and Certificates:

  • Possession of a valid California driver’s license
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificates must be obtained within sixty (60) days from date of    hire

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: • A Bachelor or Arts degree in computer science or related field • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory related experience (Additional related experience maybe substituted for education on a year-for-year basis).
