We have exciting opportunities for two (2) Mathematics Instructor positions, one (1) located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA and one (1) located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks Mathematics Instructors to teach and develop courses in Mathematics. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through departmental, instructional and other required campus meetings as well as Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus, and online classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics (attach transcripts); OR 2. A Bachelor's degree in either of the above; AND A Master's in statistics, physics or mathematics education (attach transcripts); OR 3. The equivalent; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Demonstrated ability teaching a variety of mathematics courses including statistics and calculus 2. Recent (within the last 5 years) teaching experience in mathematics and statistics 3. Demonstrated commitment to diverse teaching methods and learning styles, including relevant and modern technology particularly as applied to the learning of mathematics 4. Demonstrated excellence in teaching including enthusiasm, knowledge of subject matter, student motivational skills 5. Ability to teach students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds with high student success 6. Experience with innovative learning models (Supplemental Instruction, Accelerated Learning, Embedded Tutoring, Distance Education) 7. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented or marginalized groups meet their educational goals 8. Demonstrated commitment and contribution to increasing faculty understanding of equity related issues which impact diverse student populations
