Job Summary

Job Summary

The School Social Worker II will provide guidance and support for the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Working with the MTSS coordinator, the School Social Worker II will assist with triage, training, and modeling to support school staff when students are in social, emotional and/or behavioral crisis. The School Social Worker II will provide a full range of positive behavioral intervention and supports including assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, case management, school-based wraparound services and community linkages.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS An earned Master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Possession of the following valid California licenses/credentials: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Possession of a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing services as a School Social Worker (required within one year of employment). Must possess intern registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Minimum of two years full-time experience in providing case management, mental health services, and counseling with children under the supervision of a Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) approved supervisor. Experience in developing treatment plans, providing direct individual and group services, monitoring progress with data, and knowledge of appropriate documentation for medical billing purposes. Willingness to conduct home visits and provide services to families in the home setting. Understanding of the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth patterns of students. Appropriate manner including poise, tact, good judgment, and ability to work effectively with District personnel, community representatives, parents, and students. Willingness and ability to complete district provided 20 hour ProAct Crisis Intervention Training within the first 90 days of hire. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and personal automobile for use on district business. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Two years of post licensure practice Experience working in school settings Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS). Doctorate in related field.
