REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Prepare and serve hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned satellite foodservice operation; observe quality and quantity of food served according to establishedprocedures to verify that reimbursable meals contain the necessary components to qualify forclaiming; assure proper temperature of foods (This includes taking temperature of food with acalibrated thermometer to ensure proper cooking, cooling, holding and reheating and keepingaccurate records of temperatures for warmers, freezers, refrigerators and transport logs) ; assurecompliance with safety and sanitation regulations. Collect money for snack bars or food service carts and make change accurately. E
Assist in the preparation and assembly of sandwiches, meats, fruit, vegetables, dressings, saladsand other food items as assigned; set-up, count, stock and serve milk; check expiration dates anddiscard containers as needed; package food for distribution various to District sites. E
Set-up and break down speed lines for food service, replenish and maintain cleanliness of snackbars and a la carte snack bar cart; count money received and prepare bank deposit materials;reconcile cash receipts against student participation totals. E
Clean serving counters, tables, chairs, food containers and other food service equipment andareas to follow food safety requirements throughout the flow of food which includes but is notlimited to maintaining personal hygiene habits such as proper hand washing, use of hairnets,gloves, etc..; assist with washing and drying dishes and utensils as needed. E
Perform general cleaning duties such as mopping, sweeping, emptying trash receptacles, refillingsupply of paper towels and cleaning fluids as needed to follow food safety requirementsthroughout the flow of food. E
Organize and maintain a variety of records and files related to assigned food service/cashieringoperations and student participation; file daily worksheets and other materials as assigned. E
Estimate food and supplies needed for snack bar, food cart or satellite operation; stock foodsupplies according to established procedures by writing in accurate food count on productionrecord before and after meal service.; assist with the storage of food supplies and leftover items;assist with periodic inventories as assigned; maintain related records. Operate a variety of equipment and machines used in a school cafeteria such as point-ofsale/service terminals (mechanical or computerized) to count and record daily meal participation.
Monitor all cafeteria duties in the absence of the Cafeteria Manager; the behavior of studentsutilizing the cafeteria; train new food service employees and student workers as assigned.
Assist with food preparation and service at special events as assigned.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Clarification was provided through the MOU dated 1/7/2016. The duties and responsibilitiesfor the assignments as set for the in the job description will remain the same, except for theclarification of responsibilities and assignments listed in the MOU.
