Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of Director of Instruction and the site administrators, plan, organize, and teach band and general music at the middle school and assigned elementary school sites. Instruct students utilizing District adopted textbooks, course outlines, and the California State Frameworks for the subject area. Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to school site instrumental music programs. Implement and present lesson plans according to established curriculum standards and requirements; serve as a resource concerning instrumental and general music instruction; instruct and train band students in musicianship and performance activities; and to do other related functions as directed.
Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree including courses necessary to meet the credential requirements; Successful student teaching experience LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS A valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in the subject area. Must possess an authorization to teach English language learners. Must be NCLB compliant in music. Must possess a valid California driver’s license. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 2 years’ experience in related field-teaching students in grades K-12 grade.
