Responsibilities/Duties Clean classrooms, offices and other facilities of an assigned school during an assigned shift; sweep and mop floors, vacuum rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops, mpr rooms and other work areas. Lock gates and windows Dust and Polish Furniture Clean Chalk Boards Empty and Clean the classroom trashcans Refill dispensers Cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas Pick up paper and debris around grounds Maintain Positive Relationships with Students and Staff Occasional Student Supervision Occasional Scanning of Lunches. Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Required Skills, Education/Training & Experience Education/Training/Screening Basic methods of individual and group supervision. Modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, chalkboards, carpets, furniture, walls and fixtures. Cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work. Safety practices and work methods. Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities. Proper lifting techniques. Physical plant security (alarms, doors, gates, equipment, etc.) Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Skills to maintain positive relationships with students and adults. Must pass criminal background check Must show proof of negative TB test results Must complete CPR/First Aide certification and Child Abuse training within 30 days of employment Experience Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position Skills Possess a general knowledge of instruction. Ability to utilize basic keyboarding skills and software skills (eg: Microsoft Word and Excel). Possession of patience, flexibility and the ability to work well as a collaborative team member. Physical ability to bend over, stand and sit for periods of time. Reliable transportation to work. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Physical Working Environment: The position is located in at various school sites, which may be air conditioned, heated and served by an elevator or stairs. Occasional travel to the various operating sites will be required including the ISANA main office. There is no prolonged exposure to noise or weather. Must be able to climb stairs and sit for extended periods of time. Requires finger dexterity (computer use).
