Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Culver City Adult School Administration, the Adult School Academic Coordinator, coordinates and implements Culver City Adult School’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) Programs. The Academic Coordinator will ensure compliance with all elements of the program.

The Culver City Adult School offers a broad range of classes designed to fit the needs of the surrounding community, is WASC accredited, and is a member of the California Adult Schools Network. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skills would be: EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as an adult school ABE or ASE teacher - Minimum of two (2) years successful experience as a coordinator of an adult school ABE or ASE program (preferred) EDUCATION: -Bachelor’s degree (or higher) LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Certification Requirement Possession of a valid California Designated Subject Adult Teaching Credential in any of the following: ESL Second Language, Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills, Languages Other than English, English, Fine Arts, Life Science, including General Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, including General Science, Social Sciences License Requirement -Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.(Do Not attach license to application) -Bilingual Preferred
ASSIGNMENT This is a 12 hour per week assignment. The work schedule will include shifts that accommodate coordination with all staff, faculty and students throughout CCAS business hours, which include mornings, afternoons and evenings. This is a temporary assignment for the school year. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, a tuberculosis clearance and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status. If you are hired, we will require you to prove that you have received the COVID-19 vaccine(s) or have a valid religious or medical reason not to be vaccinated. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such in the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
