We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry Instructor located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Chemistry instructor to teach and develop courses in Chemistry. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through departmental, instructional and other required campus meetings as well as Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus classes and online classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in chemistry (attach transcipts); OR 2. A Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry; AND A Master's degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry (attach transcripts); OR 3. The equivalent; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Recent (within the last 5 years) teaching experience in a variety of Chemistry courses at an accredited college or university. 2. Interest and ability to engage in developing and assessing innovative and diverse approaches to learning that improve student retention and success, such as learning communities, distance education, supplemental instruction, embedded tutoring and evidence-based practices. 3. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment that encourages positive outcomes. 4. Demonstrated commitment to remain current and lead departments in diverse teaching methods and learning styles as applied to teaching chemistry.
