QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience & Training: Equivalent to an A.A. degree or higher required, with an emphasis in business and/or accounting. Advance skill using a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, accounting software and communication software. Three years of accounting experience in the maintenance of financial or statistical records for large or medium sized institutions. Experience with computerized data entry and accounting systems. History of satisfactory employer evaluations. Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, positive attitude and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Under general supervision of the Fiscal Services Manager, to assist with the development and maintenance of the financial and accounting records for the district’s central business operations. Employee under this classification receives limited supervision with a broad framework of standard policies and procedures. Specific Duties Include: Knowledge of: • Review, analyze and maintain statistical and financial data; • Post entries and maintain the District General Ledger; • Review the postings of all financial transactions and make corrections as needed; • Reconcile district records with projects managers, county and state records; • Responsible for internal audit functions assigned by the Fiscal Services Manager • Monitor special and categorical project budgets and file reports and claims as required; • Audit financial records, reports and claims prepared by other district staff; • Prepare a variety of financial reports and assists Fiscal Services Manager in preparation of annual budget report; • Work closely with independent auditor and assist the audit staff in their annual review of district books and records; • Suggest and implement accounting procedure changes; • Provide information and assistance to project managers, s
