Job Summary

Job Summary

The job of Technology Support Technician is done for the purpose/s of serving as a resource for users of district wide technology systems; analyzing problems and issues related to the technology systems, related hardware and software; and assisting end-users with setup, connectivity, maintenance, and operational performance.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area. One year of experience in a computer hardware/software user support environment has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience,education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted. SELECTION PROCESS: The process will include screening to ensure application is complete and applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a written exam for all qualified applicants. Of those candidates achieving a passing score of 70% or higher, the top 10 scores plus ties, will be invited to the oral exam. Passing score is 70% on both exams. An eligibility list will be established and the top three ranks of candidates from the list will receive a departmental interview. All exams are based on the job description for the position. Job descriptions are available on the District website, Personnel Commission, or Human Resources.
