Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist instructors in the care, supervision and learning activities or pre-school age children in the classroom and on the playground.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Six semester units of early childhood education or child development. (Transcripts MUST be attached for your application to be considered complete. Applications without transcripts will be disqualified.) --AND-- One year experience working with preschool age children. --AND-- LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: -Valid certifications provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or District approved provider for First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED. Online certifications will be accepted from these vendors as long as a hands-on skills assessment is completed. -Recertification to maintain current/valid status is a condition of employment. The reference is 101182 (e) (1) of Title 22, Division 12 (Child Care General Licensing Requirements). -Passage of the PUSD examination for this classification (This test will be administered after initial requirements for the position have been met.)

Candidates who possess a valid and current CA teaching credential, will be placed at Step 6 of the salary range designated for this classification. *Unless otherwise noted, positions are 9.5 months/ year (follow the standard school calendar)* This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months to fill current and future vacancies** Current vacancies (subject to change): Rolling Hills Elementary - 17.5 hrs/week D39 - 17.5 hrs/week (12 months/ year) Del Norte HS - 15 hrs/week Pomerado Elementary - 15 hrs/week Willow Grove Elementary - 17.5 hrs/week (12 months/ year) *Positions 20+ hours/ week are eligible for participation in the District's Health Insurance/ Retirement Plans.
