Who We Are: Point Quest Pediatrics focuses on providing meaningful and functional behavioral, mental health, and speech and language services to students ages 5 to 22 years of age. Pediatrics strives to equip each student with the skills and strategies needed to successfully execute their academic program in the least restrictive environment possible. Pediatrics partners with contracting school districts to assist them in serving their students who qualify for services and assessments as outlined in the student's IEP.

LMFT/LPCC (Depending on relevant experience.): $75,000 to $80,000

Location:  We are looking for Mental Health Therapist III to provide counseling and clinical supervision services in Antioch, California.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Direct report to Director of Related Services, Clinical Director, Site Director, Co-CEO, or Mental Health Coordinator

PURPOSE OF POSITION: We are looking for a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor willing and able to also provide clinical supervision. The position we are hiring for will provide therapeutic services to a caseload of approximately 20-25 students or approximately 15 direct service hours, referred by the Antioch Unified School District. All services will be delivered on Antioch Unified School sites, some travel is necessary but mileage reimbursement from site to site is available. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

  • Provide individual, group, and/or parent consultation services as required in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Document session attendance, progress notes, and communication with parents/guardians/other service providers via Point Quest Pediatric Therapies’ secure electronic database.
  • May need to create Social/Emotional goals and/or assist with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) development for student IEPs.
  • Attend student IEPs to provide updates on student progress and behavior.
  • Provide weekly individual/triadic/group supervision to all AMFT/APCC therapists assigned to you in accordance with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) mandated regulations.
  • Audit and review that supervisees appropriately document session attendance, progress notes, and communication with parents/guardians/other service providers via Point Quest Pediatric Therapies’ secure electronic health record system.
  • Ensure that all therapeutic and behavioral incidents and emergencies are appropriately documented in our online databases and/or reported to the appropriate professional agency by supervisees in accordance with state laws.
  • Confirm supervisees provide individual, group, and/or parent counseling services as required in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Assist supervisees, if needed, in creating Social/Emotional goals for student IEPs.
  • If issues arise, attend student IEPs to provide support for the student and supervisee.
  • Support supervisees in working closely with school district teachers and staff to meet the needs of the students.
  • Bi-annually complete all BBS mandated Continuing Education and provide Point Quest with verification of your current and renewed license.
  • Complete the BBS mandated minimum of six (6) hours of supervision training or coursework in each renewal period while providing supervision. 
  • Will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training provided by Point Quest’s certified trainers.
  • Communication is key – the ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, district employees, and other support staff at all times.

  • May be asked to assist with training development for other staff or therapists.

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be an LMFT or LPCC, registered and currently in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and maintain this registration and standing throughout your employment.
  • Provide verification of the completion of the BBS mandated six (6) hours of supervision training or coursework prior to, or within 60 days of, the commencement of supervision.
  • Preferred experience working within a school setting or with children with autism and/or behavioral issues. 
  • Preferred experience providing supervision to associate therapists and clinical counselors.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification helpful
  • Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
  • Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
