Job Summary

CONFIDENTIAL POSITION: Under direction, serves in a wide variety of office and routine administrative duties by planning, organizing, supervising and participating in the clerical operations related to the assigned functions of the division; and performs related work as required. Serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Assistant Superintendent of Business, whose office has broad, District-wide, line and staff responsibilities. Position is distinguished by (a) organizing office operations in District office where applications of law and policy are decided, (b) preparing information to assist administrative decisions (c) dealing with a wide variety of information on a strictly confidential basis, (d) composing correspondence on own initiative for final approval and (e) acquiring a command of goals, priorities and technical procedures to permit the handling of routine operations independently, (f) assist in coordinating efforts in the areas of workers’ compensation, property and liability claims, safety training and compliance and hazard communications, and (g) assist with disaster preparedness efforts.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: - High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by college-level course work in business administration or related field Experience: - Five years of increasingly responsible secretarial experience - Experience in a school district office environment; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. - Type accurately at 55 wpm.
