With Scoot Education, you’ll have the opportunity to become a credentialed teacher with support and coaching from our experienced consultants. Teaching is no easy feat, and we’re here to guide you through the steps to break into the field of education.
The Bay Area is experiencing a teacher shortage and we’re looking for driven individuals eager to help by becoming TeachStart Scholar+ Fellows.
Not only will you be helping to solve the teaching crisis but you’ll also earn a great income with benefits and paid holidays. You’ll teach and serve students across the Bay Area as a full-time substitute teacher, and receive teacher training and career coaching.
- Salary: $38,500 annual salary, with benefits
- Program Length: Fall/Winter 2021 through Summer 2023 (2 years long)

How it works:
As a TeachStart Scholar+ Fellow, you’ll be substitute teaching full-time at our Bay Area partner schools while taking foundational training courses.
In year 2 of the TeachStart program, you’ll get hands-on experience working as a lead teacher while earning your teaching credentials without the burden of thousands of dollars in debt.
You’ll have the support of our dedicated consultants through every step of this process, from coursework to exams.
By Fall of 2022, you’ll have a full-time teaching position where you can bring your passion for education to the classroom.

You’ll enjoy:

- Full-time hours (M-F approx: 8am-3pm)

What to expect:
- Enrollment in a 2 year paid teaching program
- Guidance and support on passing the state required tests for a teaching credential
- Advanced understanding of social and emotional development in children and adolescents
