Classified 12 Month Calendar EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Performs complex and technical secretarial and clerical work requiring accuracy and attention to detail and involving a review and audit of a variety of materials and a thorough familiarity with school/district policies, practices and procedures; reviews, audits and monitors the development of a variety of technical reports and statistical data; locates and extracts data from a variety of informational sources; prepares reports, purchase orders, requisitions, correspondence; originates and maintains various files relating to day-to-day operations; receives and screens all visitors and calls; coordinates information for all special activities; other related duties as required. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of modern office methods including Microsoft Word and Excel and facility with databases a must. Mac experience a plus. Excellent typing, arithmetic, and English skills required. Needs ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and be able to relate well with students, staff, and community; must be effective under pressure. Ability to multi-task required. Bilingual Spanish is highly desirable. Experience: Prefer school secretarial experience or at least two years responsible general secretarial work. Education: Two years college, or high school graduate with additional coursework in business subjects. Note: This is a union position. Employee participates in Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
