Requirements / Qualifications

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Plan, organize and coordinate the operation of After School Bridge Programs at designated sites to ensure an efficient and effective program for identified youth; train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff; provide highly responsible assistance to the After-School Education & Safety Program Vice Principal or Administrator. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:: KNOWLEDGE OF: Community resources including academic support, recreational and training programs. Parent education programs. Cultural diversity concepts. Job-related software programs, spreadsheets, and word processing. Principles and practices of training, supervision and evaluation. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. ABILITY TO: Read, write and speak English using proper syntax and grammar. Understand and implement complex oral and written directions. Work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. Interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Train, supervise and evaluate the work of others. Prepare and deliver oral presentations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: High school diploma or equivalent, and two years increasingly responsible experience working with youth in an after school program. Bridge Program Site Leader experience desirable.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATES: Possession of a valid California driver’s license. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
