ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES NEED THE FOLLOWING: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s or higher degree, or two years of higher education study and some experience working with children in an organized setting. WORKING CONDITIONS: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment. • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students. • Seeing to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities. • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.

ELIGIBILITY LIST: An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment and will be good for one year or until the list is exhausted. It will be used as follows: 1. To fill the current vacancy and future permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list; 2. To create a list of substitutes for the current class and other related classes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. EXAMINATION PROCEDURE: The examination process will include the following: 1. Screening of applications to determine completion and meeting the minimum requirements. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and whose application was complete at the time the recruitment closed will move to the Examination Process. 2. Qualified candidates will be notified via email and invited to participate in the Examination Process. Following is the examination information: a. Multiple Choice Exam- A multiple choice exam will be administered to evaluate the applicant's job-related knowledge. The exam consists of different categories such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, basic math, reading comprehension, safety, principles, and/or practices of the trade or profession. The weight of this exam is 100%. The date of the multiple-choice exam is TBD. Applicants need to achieve a minimum passing score of 70%. Applicants successful in the examination process will be placed on an employee or an outside applicant eligibility list by rank order of their examination score. This score will include seniority credit or veterans points if applicable. Both lists are good for up to one year and are updated due to continuous examinations or employment status during the life of the eligibility lists as needed. If fewer than three eligibles are available to interviews, the department head may request a new examination. Merit Rule 40.200.18. SELECTION PROCEDURE Merit Rule 50.100.2 B Any permanent classified employees of the District who voluntarily resigns from his permanent position may be reinstated or reemployed by the Board of Education of the District within 39 months after his last day of paid service and without further competitive examination, to a position in his former classification as a permanent or limited-term employee in a related lowers class in which the employee formerly had permanent status. If there is no permanent classified employee requesting reemployment or if the Board of Education chooses not to reemploy an employee making this request, the following is the order of precedence. Merit Rule 50.200.1 A Names shall be certified for appointment from employment lists in the sequence that follows: 1. Automatic appointments to Layoff Reemployment list candidates, until exhausted; 2. The top three ranks on the Promotional eligibility list (current districts employees) will go to the interview; 3. If less than three ranks of Promotional candidates are available, the remaining rank(s) will be obtained from the Open eligibility list (outside applicants).
