Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the candidate to have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR the ability to demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics (or readiness in those subjects, as appropriate). Testing TBD. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students; monitor and report student progress. Qualifications: Candidate must be a high school graduate and have some experience working with students in an organized setting. Candidate must have knowledge of basic subjects taught. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential.
