Job Summary

Stevenson School is seeking a full-time History teacher for the 22/23 school year. The successful candidate will teach five sections of classes within the History department, and contribute to the co-curricular life of the school. We are ideally looking for candidates who bring teaching experience in economics and/or business studies to complement a track record of teaching traditional high school history classes. All Stevenson teachers serve as an advisor to a small group of students and offer co-curricular activities in two of the three sports seasons (activities include athletics coaching, outdoor education, theater, and supervision of a range of other clubs and activities). Stevenson’s History Department promotes critical thinking, responsible scholarship, and creative expression within an imaginative curriculum. In a seminar setting, we model a learning environment framed on the values of inquiry, mutual respect, and cooperative support. The program emphasizes the content and skills necessary for students to find success in college and beyond. Professional experience relevant to working with high school students Experience with instructional technology, such as G Suite, learning management systems and other related resources.
