Job Summary

Vice Principals will assist in the formulation of policies, organizational plans, goals and objectives in order to develop and maintain an educationally effective school of excellence. Vice Principals report directly to the BOE and assist in the administration of the school and provide leadership. Specific Duties: • Implementation of school policies and programs. • Supervise and provide bi-annual evaluation of all staff. • Administer the setup of student data in Jupiter Ed and assignment of teachers to various grades/subjects. • Ensure student grades are entered on time by the teachers and progress reports sent to parents according to the schedule. • Administer admissions for the new and returning students. • Assume responsibility of maintaining discipline at the campus. Ensure discipline policy is followed using the proper procedures and protocols in place and documentation of incidents is up to date. • Assume responsibility of attendance at the campus and take remedial actions in cases where attendance is concerning. • Organizing the graduation and/or promotion ceremonies • Arrange, conduct, supervise and generate reports for State and Local Assessment tests. (NWEA MAP Testing for KG – 5th Grade) • Assume responsibility for the documentation needed for mandated programs. • Arrange for substitutes in case of teacher absence. • Assume the responsibility of creating yearly schedule for the school. • Assume responsibility of creating the daily schedule for the classes. • Work with special service personnel and non-school agencies on student academics. • Meet with teachers, students, parents and/or guardians as needed. • Conduct orientation for incoming new students. • Review new textbooks and help in improving the curriculum. • Revise Learning plans with the teachers annually. • Write Professional Growth Plans for staff and teachers. • Be knowledgeable of school goals and programs while maintaining an effective, positive working

Requirements / Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s Degree in Education • Preference given to candidates who are in compliance with California Department Certification regulations. • Must have at least five (5) years of successful teaching experience. • Demonstrate ability to relate to the students, professional staff, parents/guardians, and members of the community.
