Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Internal Business, performs specialized and responsible accounting functions to support programs funded by state, federal, and local entities, and to perform special projects as assigned. Employees in this classification receive occasional supervision within the framework of complex policies and procedures for each separate grant and entitlement. This job class performs specialized duties, which involve budget preparation, preparing, verifying, and analyzing financial reports and information. This job class requires knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. This job class also requires accounting practices and procedures, as well as strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: • Two years of responsible experience in accounting plus an AA degree from an accredited college or university in accounting. Or Training: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or finance.
