
Prevention Services Facilitator - Kern County Network for Children (KCNC) (Open) at Kern County Superintendent of Schools
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in relevant prevention, social service, community based activities, including direct involvement with family resource centers, collaborative partnerships and the Kern County Department of Human Services. Lived experience in foster care, homelessness or child maltreatment or being a family member or a caregiver of an individual with this experience may substitute for one (1) year or work experience; experience working with children and families who have experienced or are at-risk of experiencing child abuse, foster and/or homeless youth, and an understanding of the needs of these target populations desired; experience in grant implementation, and evaluation/data collection activities; experience in outreach and marketing (including public relations) and the facilitation of community events; Education: B.A., B.S. in public health, communications, social work, social sciences, public administration or related field of study. •Each candidate’s application papers and answers to the essay questions contained within the application will be thoroughly evaluated and ranked by a screening committee appointed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days in paid service, whichever is longer.
