Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent (such as GED or Adult Education Diploma) any combination equivalent to training and/or experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required. Must attach a document with a minimum of 2 references. ELPAC:
The English Language Proficiency Assessment, or ELPAC, is a test mandated by California which assesses English Learners in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The testers will work with students in groups using audio recordings and also will conduct oral assessments one-on-one.

Salary:
$19.79 per hour Hours: Approximately 5.5 hours per day
Duties:
Assist in administering the English Language Proficiency Assessment, or ELPAC to students on a one-on-one basis. Assist in scoring certain aspects of the test, maintain a variety of logs & records, and perform light clerical duties.
Knowledge Of:
General needs and behavior of children, general clerical techniques, and basic subjects taught in Schools including arithmetic, grammar, spelling, language, reading, punctuation, and vocabulary. Oral and written communication skills & reading and writing communication skills.
Ability To:
Organize and schedule assessment activities. Provide students with emotional support and general guidance; have a friendly attitude and work well with children. Perform general clerical duties and maintain records.
Education and Experience Required:
Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent (such as GED or Adult Education Diploma), and any combination equivalent to training and/or experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
