UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF: Instructional Specialist/Curriculum Specialist Essential Job Functions Implements scientific-based reading and math research strategies to enable students to develop the competencies and skills to be successful in reading and math. Identifies student needs through pre and post assessments. Provides small group instruction designed to motivate and meet the individual needs of students. Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities. Evaluates academic growth of students through administering pre and post assessments and tracking weekly progress. Communicates student progress with teachers, curriculum specialists and administrators in order to help guide intervention and classroom instruction for individual students. Attends and assists with Intervention Team or SST meetings as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications Must possess an earned Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university - preferably in a Math related field Must have successfully completed at least 30 units of coursework related to instruction, learning differences or child development (may have been part of the earned Bachelor’s degree program). Certifications Must pass criminal background check Must show proof of negative TB test results Must complete CPR/First Aide certification and Child Abuse training within 30 days of employment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Possess a general knowledge of instruction. Ability to conduct reading and math assessments as well as to gather and analyze data. Ability to use technology in the teaching/learning process. Ability to utilize basic keyboarding skills and software skills (eg: Microsoft Word and Excel). Possession of patience, flexibility and the ability to work well as a collaborative team member. Physical ability to bend over, stand and sit for periods of time. Reliable transportation to work.
