Job Summary

Job Summary

Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts technical, consulting and advisory services for Los Angeles County Office of Education Local Educational Agencies (LEAS), in the business and financial management aspects of educational administration. LEAs include school districts, community colleges, Joint Power Authority (JPA), Regional Occupational Centers/Programs (ROC/P), Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs), charter schools, Head Start Delegate Agencies, and internal LACOE divisions. This position also advises and trains clients in methods to comply with federal, state, and local requirements; and plans, organizes, develops and evaluates systems, processes and procedures for the improvement of budgeting, financial, and operational support services of clients.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Four years of experience in professional accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis involving automated business accounting and reporting systems, including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.
