We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Dean, Counseling located district wide. Under the general direction of the Provost of Instruction, the Associate Dean, Counseling provides leadership and vision, planning, coordination, supervision and evaluation of the Counseling Department and related educational and student support services and programs. The Associate Dean will coordinate the Counseling Department's portion of the college's matriculation, effort and perform other related duties as assigned. This is an administrative position, exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, with responsibility for formulation and recommendation of district policies, regulations and budget decisions related to area of responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. A Master's degree; AND
2. One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's assignment; AND
3. Commitment to the philosophy and values of the institutional shared governance based upon a genuine sharing of responsibility, AND
4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Two (2) years of recent leadership experience as an administrator, counseling department chair, director, or coordinator in a public higher education institution
2. Two (2) years of full time or four (4) years of part time - professional experience as a counselor at the community college level (or relevant experience counseling community college students)
3. Effective oral and written communication skills
4. Demonstrated ability to manage financial resources with a record of fiscal responsibility and accountability
5. Demonstrated advocacy for students and students' needs
