Job Description:
GEA’s mission is to create a safe and challenging learning environment that emphasizes global awareness and leadership.

Responsibilities:
Teachers will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to promote overall academic and emotional growth of students, reflect the school’s vision, mission and charter
• Manage a classroom that includes age-appropriate, culturally responsive classroom management practices
• Assess and monitor student achievement and growth utilizing school assessment tools
• Ensure that all student needs are being met
• Utilize state standards to develop classroom curriculum
• Engage in meaningful professional development activities
• Collaborate and participate in critical relationships with other teachers to develop educational strategies jointly
• Demonstrate success working with children from different cultural, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Communicate frequently with students, students’ families, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:
Ideal teacher candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• A California multi-subject credential (NCLB requirement)
• Teaching experience serving diverse student populations
• BCLAD/CLAD certification
• Ability to design and implement effective units and lessons
• Solid knowledge of subject matter including CA State Standards
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for ELLs
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills
• Must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
• Bilingual in Korean/Spanish preferred

Global Education Academy 2 (GEA2) is a close-knit, high-performing inner-city Public Charter school with very small classroom sizes--most under 20 students! We are looking for an elementary teacher with knowledge of the Common Core standards, and the ability to prepare and execute project-based lessons. Our small classroom sizes allow for more one-on-one support in helping students succeed. This position is for the 2024-25 school year. GEA2 offers a foreign language program in Korean and Spanish. GEA2 has a small but dedicated staff that produces strong results. Our Goal Global Education Academy 2's goal is to develop citizens of the world who are successful leaders not only in their local communities but in the international community as well. Global Education Academy 2 will provide students with a wide variety of linguistic and cultural experiences that give students the opportunity to develop a true understanding and respect for all people. Through a balanced curriculum that addresses academic, linguistic, social, physical, and emotional development, students will close the achievement gap. Global Education Academy 2 will create a safe and challenging learning environment for students, parents, and faculty that emphasizes global awareness and leadership. Applicants will need to pass a background check prior to the offering of employment. Applicants should be a team player capable of working with administration, teachers, intervention teachers, and staff to organize a multi-faceted education program that meets the needs of all students.
